In this photography class we'll be covering the basic elements of taking pictures that every photographer should know. We'll discuss composition, color, lighting, and other topics essential to knowing how to create a great photograph. We'll practice photographing different subject matter and learn about all the different types of photography -- from landscapes to portraiture and everything in between! There will be weekly photo assignments given at the end of each class, which we'll bring in and review together, providing helpful critique so everyone improves their skills throughout the semester. If you want to learn how to start creating great photographs, this class is for you!

Suggested age range: 13+
When & where: Mondays at Spontaneous Celebrations in Jamaica Plain from 12:00-1:00, Jan. 22 - Apr. 23, 2018. No class Feb. 19 or Apr. 16. Spontaneous Celebrations has off-street parking and is wheelchair-accessible. It is located at 45 Danforth Street near the Stony Brook T stop (directions).
Class requirements: Students must own a camera (any type is fine, including cell phone cameras).
Fee: $200 + $40 materials fee. Payment plans available. Fees waived for families with financial need. (Waivers and payment plan information.)
