In this class we will study the principles of logic and critical thinking, including arguments, premises, and conclusions, inductive and deductive thinking, syllogisms, logical fallacies, and cognitive biases like the bandwagon effect, the false consensus effect, the availability heuristic, and more. By the end of the class you will know how to recognize an ad hominem attack, a straw man argument, a slippery slope, a false dilemma, and many other examples of weak reasoning.
