Jam Sessions

CALLING ALL MUSICIANS!

Start your week right by joining us on Mondays for unstructured jam sessions. This is not a class! There is no teacher and no guided plan, so you’ll be free to hang out and make whatever kind of music you choose. We have dedicated practice rooms with drum sets, microphones, amplifiers, and other equipment, as well as a piano upstairs. Bring your own guitar if you have one. Vocalists welcome!

Jam sessions are open to everyone, including all stages of musical ability and all musical tastes/styles/preferences. So whether you’re an experienced jazz keyboardist who’s had ten years of piano lessons, or someone who’s just starting out on the bongo drums and looking for a no-stress way to improve, we invite you to join our group and meet other creative teen homeschoolers who share your interest in music and artistic expression.

Suggested age range: 13+

When & where: Mondays at Spontaneous Celebrations in Jamaica Plain from 10:00-12:00, Feb. 25 - May 20, 2019. Closed Apr. 15. Spontaneous Celebrations has off-street parking and is wheelchair-accessible. It is located at 45 Danforth Street near the Stony Brook T stop (directions).

Fee: Included in the cost of Arts Mondays if you enroll for the full-day program; otherwise a suggested donation of $100 to help cover the cost of space rental. Payment plans available. Fees waived for families with financial need.  (Waivers and payment plan information.)
