This history course begins with the earliest civilizations in Mesopotamia, the Indus River Valley, Mesoamerica, China, Egypt, and the East African highlands. We will study ancient Greece and Rome, the formation of major world religions in their cultural and geographic contexts, the Silk Road and other trade networks, empire building, syncretism, social stratification, and the history of climate and disease.

When & where: Wednesdays on Zoom from 11:00 - 12:00 Eastern Time, Apr. 5 - June 28, 2023. No class May 17.
