We are so inspired by the idea of taking science out of the classroom and into the wider world... where science should be!
In this service learning class, you will pick a project you are passionate about and work to make it a reality. Working either individually or with a group, you will develop an idea, reach out to a mentor, implement your project, and make your findings public.
Past student projects include:
— working to establish turtle and frog populations
— water sampling Lake Monona
— researching bee husbandry and writing a grant to receive a beehive
— building a greenhouse from old water bottles
— building a large composter
— designing an outdoor classroom
Don’t worry if you don’t have an idea at first: brainstorming and project planning will be part of the process!
